6 Things To Remember When a Celebrity Professes Christianity Faith

Summer/ Fall 2019 have been loaded of headlines such as ” 7 celebrities talking about their faith in Jesus in 2019”, you can read the article here. ”Demi Lovato says being baptized in Israel filled ‘the God-sized hole in my heart”, read full story on USA Today . The story is not finished yet: now she is having a backlash after traveling to Israel ”Demi Lovato apologizes for ‘offending anyone’ following ‘magical’ trip to Israel.” and ”Kanye West had a Calvinist preach at his concert today’‘ from Reformed Semper Reformed .

From my perspective some of them still look as if they don’t have a clear understanding of what Christianity is; however I was greatly surprised and encouraged by others for the clarity of their remarks; they nailed it!

But what should we remember when a celebrity professes its new Christianity faith?

First, I suggest to ask: Can God save someone from that kind of lifestyle? The short answer is yes! Probably a good example of this, is that if you are are Christian, you and me every other Sunday may loudly sing in our Churches tunes like:

Amazing Grace! how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now am found,

was blind but now I see

And we mean it.

2. Secondly, Pray for them. For genuineness. For their churches; brothers and sisters who are working in their discipleship, also for their families.

3.Third, Seek for fruits. Celebrities don’t have an exemption from obeying God’s word based of their status. Holiness is required to anyone who claims to be a believer.

4. Fourth, Rejoice. There is joy in heaven every time a sinner became a saint.

5. Fifth, Don’t be naive. Time will tell if this is just a marketing trend or true repentance.

6. Sixth. Extend grace. The same one you and I have received.

What are your thoughts? What else you will suggest to look for?

Have a terrific Saturday!
